SINGAPORE - A 10-year-old boy gave his neighbours a scare when he climbed from the third floor of an HDB flat to pick up a ball.

The boy was having a game of football with his friend, when they kicked the ball onto a ledge on the second floor, Lianhe Wanbao reported.

The boy then went to the third floor and climbed down by holding on to the railing at the end of the corridor. The corridor was fenced up on the second floor, so there was no access to the ledge.

After reaching the ledge to retrieve the ball, the boy climbed back up to the third floor. The whole process took about 20 minutes.

Neighbours who witnessed the incident at Block 33 Bendemeer Road said the climb looked precarious.

But when a Wanbao reporter approached the boy, he thought nothing of it.

"Luckily I learnt rock climbing in school," he said.
