Body of 87-year-old man found in Kallang River

SINGAPORE - The body of an elderly man was found in the Kallang River on Thursday (May 25).

The police said it was alerted to a case of unnatural death at Kallang River at about 12.30pm.

An 87-year-old man was found motionless in the water.

The body was manually retrieved by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. The person was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Police investigations are ongoing.

SCDF said it sent one fire engine, a Red Rhino, two fire bikes and an ambulance to the scene.
