Singapore's only Malay-language newspaper, Berita Harian, will have a fresh look and improved content when it hits the newstands on Saturday.

Besides a new masthead for both Berita Harian and the weekend paper Berita Minggu, the newspaper will also have revamped content. It will place more emphasis on news that affects the lives of Malays in Singapore and on developments of interest to the community, said a statement by parent company Singapore Press Holdings on Wednesday.

It will also have a new Opinion segment to carry views from a pool of senior writers as well as guest writers. The Sports section will put the spotlight on local sports, including sports personalities and local sports issues, while its Lifestyle pages will showcase daily themes ranging from Technology, and Health & Wellness to the Arts and Heritage.

Berita Harian's online website, cyBerita, will be undergo a revamp to improve interactive multimedia elements, while the Berita Harian mobile app will be launched later this year.
