From television sets and refrigerators to notebooks and personal computers - it is bargains galore at the inaugural SG Tech Show 2014 which is under way at Suntec's convention centre halls.

Some of the best known international names, including Acer, Best Denki, Courts, Dell, LG and Samsung, are among the exhibitors at the show, which is taking up 12,000 sq m at Halls 401-406.

There are also special daily deals to attract even more people to the show.

Notable events at the show include the launch of several new notebooks, desktops and tablets by Acer, Audiohouse's deals on television sets and Casio's launch of its flagship compact camera, the Exilim EX-100.

The 12.1 megapixel gadget comes with a 10.7x optical zoom lens with constant f/2.8 aperture.

Casio's general manager of digital cameras Johnny Ng is optimistic about the show.

He expects a good crowd as the school holidays have started and said: "We're confident the show will be a success."

One of the more prominent exhibitors is tech premium reseller EpiCentre. It has taken up nearly 1,000 sq m. The area is divided into four zones showcasing smart technologies which can be used at home, on the road, when exercising or relaxing.

SG Tech Show 2014 - which ends tomorrow - is organised by Exhibits Inc, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings that has organised consumer electronics shows such as IT Show, Comex and the Food & Beverage Fair.

Mr Melvin Koh, Exhibits Inc's general manager, said: "Consumers can not only buy gadgets, but also be educated on the new technologies and how to integrate them into their lifestyle."
