Asian business not affected by closures in US: Toys 'R' Us

But industry players here still worry as ailing US firm has 85% stake in regional operations

Despite news that Toys 'R' Us is set to sell or shut its stores in the United States, the brand's operating company in Asia said business in the region, including Singapore, is not affected.

The debt-plagued retailer filed for bankruptcy protection in North America last September and submitted court papers this week to liquidate the company, according to US media reports.
