Family members commemorated the first anniversary of Madam Tan Yueh Goh's death by donating 88 of her paintings to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

Madam Tan, who died in January last year at age 95, was 83 when she took up Chinese brush painting.

Her eldest daughter, Mrs Winnie Phoon (second from right), said at a reception yesterday that $118,000 has been raised for the fund through selling some of the paintings.

The fund supports children from needy families with school expenses.
