About 70 children were competing to win a tablet yesterday at Orchard Gateway as they played a variety of games to get a better understanding of money.

The stage games they played were based on a mobile phone game called OCBC Mighty Savers, which teaches children how to spend well, differentiate between needs and wants, and how to save and invest. In the end, Jayden Koe, 11, walked away with the top prize of a tablet after racking up a top score of $36,749.34.

Nine other children won toy store gift cards, with values ranging from $150 to $50. OCBC Mighty Savers has had more than 2,000 downloads since it was launched in November last year.

The game was created by OCBC Bank and Yu Neng Primary School.
