Close to 250 needy people had their blood taken, their eyes screened, their feet looked at and their teeth checked on Tuesday morning as part of the free health screening offered by the South West Community Development Council.

Another 500 needy residents have been identified and they will go through the same screening process either next month or in December.

Dr Amy Khor, mayor for the area and Senior Minister of State for Health said that after the results are in, those who need follow-up will be referred to a doctor. Free spectacles or hearing aids will also be given out to those who need but cannot afford them.
