HSBC Singapore donated more than $550,000 yesterday to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF) and the Business Times' Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF). Mr Guy Harvey-Samuel, the bank's chief executive, presented a cheque to Straits Times editor Warren Fernandez, who is chairman of ST SPMF, and Business Times editor Alvin Tay, who is chairman of BT BAF, at the HSBC Children's Festive Party. The party was attended by 120 children from low-income families. They took part in a treasure hunt at Fort Canning (left) and went on a guided tour of the Treasures Of The World Exhibition from the British Museum, which is held at the National Museum of Singapore.
