3,000 neighbourhood shops to benefit from HDB co-funding scheme

Some 3,000 neighbourhood shops will get up to $1.5 million from the Housing Board to carry out promotional activities.

HDB will co-fund up to half the expenditure for promotional events organised by the Merchants' Associations to attract customers, such as those in conjunction with the Lunar New Year, the Great Singapore Sale, and the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The Ghim Moh Neighbourhood Centre will also get co-funding to upgrade its common areas, such as awnings and signages.

The shops, located in 32 sites across Singapore, come under the fifth round of HDB's Revitalisation of Shops scheme which started in 2007.

The Merchants' Associations have already been informed of the scheme. To find out more, HDB shop owners and tenants can call the HDB Commercial Properties at 1800-866 3073.
