3 injured in accident involving 2 motorcycles and a car outside CTE tunnel

SINGAPORE - Three people were injured in a major accident involving two motorcycles and a car just outside the Central Expressway (CTE) tunnel during morning peak hour on Wednesday (Nov 2).

The accident caused congestion on the expressway all the way till the Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5 exit, according to an update on Twitter by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

Motorists were also told to avoid lanes 1 and 2.

The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at 8.05am, with the SCDF dispatching three ambulances.

A man and a woman in their 30s, as well as another 46-year-old victim, were conveyed conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

All three are believed to have been on motorcycles.

Police investigations are ongoing.
