A 22-year-old man was charged with raping a woman at a bridge along Kallang Bahru last Saturday.

No plea was taken from Haliffie Mamat, who is alleged to have raped the 34-year-old woman between 6.30am and 6.45am that day.

He is remanded at Central Police Division for investigation. He will be back in court on May 15. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 20 years, fined or caned.
