16 restaurants offering Zaobao menus

Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao's zbNOW food writers have teamed up with 16 restaurants to roll out new menus from now till September.

For instance, diners at Tao Seafood Asia in Marina View who ask for the special Zaobao menu will enjoy a six-course meal that includes the restaurant's signature fish maw soup and double boiled bird's nest soup for about $68 per person. The restaurant typically charges about $119 per person for the same menu.

At Peach Blossoms in the Marina Mandarin Hotel, a special five- course meal priced at about $88 per person includes dishes such as pork ribs with honey sauce and doubled boiled kampung chicken soup. The restaurant usually charges about $128 per person for the same menu.

The special menus at Tao Seafood Asia and Peach Blossoms were launched last weekend as part of the Zaobao Gourmet Month in celebration of the daily's new look.

The other menus will be launched every subsequent Saturday.

The paper unveiled a new print and digital look last month to make its content more reader-friendly. Its app was also revamped.

The other participating restaurants include the Tung Lok and Menya Musashi restaurants; Ginza Kushi Katsu at Paragon; Shisen Hanten at Mandarin Orchard Singapore; Golden Peony at Conrad Centennial Hotel; Wan He Lou at Maude Road; and Szechuan Court and Kitchen at Fairmont Singapore.
