110 suspected drug offenders arrested in 4-day CNB operations island-wide

Anti-narcotics officers arrested 110 suspected drug offenders in a four-day drug bust, which ended on Friday.

They seized more than $82,000 worth of drugs, including 1.75kg of cannabis, 168g of heroin, 43g of 'Ice' and some ketamine, said the Central Narcotics Bureau in a statement on Friday evening.

Officers from the Singapore Police Force supported the operation.

In one bust on Friday, CNB officers trailed a suspected drug trafficker near Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3. The 36-year-old Singaporean was believed to be awaiting a consignment of drugs.

Around 12.50pm, he took a taxi to Yishun and proceeded on foot to a nearby Housing Board block. There, officers saw a 49-year-old Malaysian man handing over a bag to him. The two were arrested and a black bundle containing around 1kg of cannabis was found in the bag.

Another approximately 750g of cannabis was found in the Singaporean's hideout in a follow-up raid. A 27-year-old Malaysian woman and a second 36-year-old Singaporean man were arrested in the unit.

Investigations are ongoing.
