SINGAPORE - Thinking of taking that free joyride on the Singapore Cable Car on Monday (Aug 10)?

Think again.

The wait to get on it in the afternoon was a whopping 10 hours, according to a 1.16pm update on the Singapore Cable Car's Facebook page.

It also advised guests not to join the queues at the various boading points as it will not be accepting any more people.

Photos posted by those waiting in line showed long snaking queues that stretched out of the cable car stations.

An update at about 6.25pm on the company's Facebook page thanked all who waited patiently and apologised to those who did not get to avail the free ride offer.

The attraction, which is operated by the Mount Faber Leisure Group, had offered complimentary rides on Monday as part of its SG50 Jubilee weekend promotions.

The offer was only open to Singaporeans and permanent residents who are required to present proof of identification.
