Distractions during TV soccer match
STARHUB should be commended for featuring eight simultaneous English Premier League matches as part of its Survival Sunday menu. However, I was disappointed at the numerous distractions on the TV screen.

Not once did five minutes pass without a 'ticker' running at the bottom of the screen. I was watching Wigan Athletic versus Manchester United, and the ticker had a 'man of the match' competition. It then featured the same competition in a separate game (which didn't make much sense), and then there were live results. And it kept popping up. It was so distracting.

Also, I cannot understand why every single goal in a separate match had to be shown in a little pop-up screen (Goal Flash). If the results are shown in the ticker, the Goal Flash was unnecessary, especially as eight matches were being played.

I hope these distractions will be minimised in future live coverage of soccer, as viewers cannot focus on the match with so many pop-ups. The score and time displays are a must, but everything else is extra.
