Bite the bullet (Train)

'High-speed rail travel is the future, both in terms of time savings and the environment.'
MR MARKUS CHRISTOPHER RUDDOCK, who explains that air travel over the 300km distance from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur consumes unnecessary quantities of fossil fuel. With China starting its US$49 billion (S$67 billion) Shanghai-Beijing rail link, he says it's a pity a Singapore-Malaysia consortium can't swallow the much smaller US$2.5 billion cost and make it happen
