| THANK YOU ALL ON SQ 609
ON FEB 11, my husband and I boarded flight SQ 609 from Incheon in South Korea to Singapore when he suddenly felt unwell. It was an emergency but we were more than an hour before touchdown. One of the cabin crew led my husband to the rear cabin to rest and gave him oxygen. As he was very weak, they gave him oxygen and made him as comfortable as possible. The crew asked for a doctor to come forward but there was none although a Korean nurse who checked his pulse and monitored his symptoms. Arrangements were made for medical standby after touchdown. Ken the tour leader with Nam Ho Travel offered to see to check out for my other family members so my elder son and I could accompany my husband to the medical centre. Thank you, everyone. Yeo Phek Poh (Mdm) CALLING MS TAN... MY AUNT and I went on a three-day cruise on Superstar Virgo from March 5 to 7. After my aunt went to the washroom on Deck 12, beside the Mediterranean Buffet, she left her handbag in the washroom. We went to the reception counter on Deck 7 and fortunately, it was there. My aunt would like to thank Ms Tan Siew Buay for handing it in. We hope she will contact us if she reads this. Pau Zhong Zhen (Miss) TIDY MARY OF FOOD REPUBLIC I WOULD like to compliment service staff Mary, who was on duty at Food Republic in Suntec City on March 9 at 6pm. Her disposition and attitude when carrying out her tasks were commendable. She conducted herself in a professional manner and ensured the place was clean for patrons. I noticed she even picked up litter from the floor with her bare hands. Thank you, Mary, for making my short break at Food Republic a pleasant one. Camy Low Sok Wan (Ms) ICHIBAN CINDY, THE WAITRESS MY SON and I had dinner at Ichiban Sushi at Parkway Parade on Feb 25. While waitress Cindy took our order, I lamented to my son that my right palm was painful because I had scalded myself while cooking earlier that evening. Without any prompting, Cindy returned to our table and offered me Burnol, a medication to soothe scalds. She even offered to apply it. Gloria Chan Swee Poa (Ms) I SALUTE YOU, KKH STAFF I WOULD like to give a big 'thank you' to all nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Nicu), Special Care Nursery (SCN) and Ward 81, KK Hospital. Especially those nurses assigned to take care of our twin daughters, Xie Yina and Xie Dina, who were born premature on Jan 30. Yina, the elder, was admitted to Nicu, while her younger sister Dina was warded in SCN. Yina was discharged from Nicu after more than two weeks and joined her sister in SCN. Yina was discharged and back home on March 2, while Dina was discharged on March 14. We would also like to thank the anaesthetist who attended to my wife on the morning of Jan 30. There are too many medical staff to thank, including our gynaecologist, Dr S.F. Loh. He made a difference to our twins' delivery. He literally made KK Hospital his home and could be seen any time of day, whenever he was needed. He appeared on Jan 30 at around 6am and decided it was time for my wife to go for caesarean operation. Sia Kian Leong | |
