Act against shops insisting on CashCard 'minimum spend'
I WAS at the Econ minimart at Block 164 Tampines Street 12 on Tuesday afternoon.

I wanted two bottled drinks and one pack of snacks (total cost about $2.90). As I did not have enough cash, I decided to pay by CashCard. I was shocked when the shop assistant told me I had to spend at least $5 if I wanted to pay by Nets or CashCard. I left the shop without buying anything.

I called Nets and was told shop operators are not allowed to impose a minimum sum purchase.

I am sure many other shops do the same and hope Nets will take action against such operators.
