The safety of commuters is of utmost importance.

Orchard MRT station is equipped with three emergency escape routes.

These routes are located at the exit staircases accessible from the station platform, the south entrance as well as from the station's new north entrance.

While the previous north entrance towards Orchard Road is currently closed for modification works, the station's new north entrance, which is located near the previous site, has the same exit capacity.

The new route has been assessed by fire-safety engineers and conforms to established safety standards.

In case of an emergency, SMRT personnel who are trained in safety procedures will be on hand to respond to the situation.
