Keeping airspace safe for all
| I REFER to the letter, 'Couldn't intruder plane have landed at Seletar?' by Mr Anthony Leong Chee-Hong (ST, Jan 26).
Since 9/11, the Singapore Armed Forces has maintained a high level of vigilance to safeguard our airspace, territorial waters and key installations. The recent RSAF interception of the Cessna 208 which entered Singapore airspace without an approved flight plan is a demonstration of this heightened vigilance. The RSAF responded quickly and escorted the Cessna to land at Changi Airport. This was a sound tactical decision to ensure the safety of the civilian population. The RSAF continues to maintain a high state of readiness to ensure the security of our airspace. Col Darius Lim | |
