Why stop concession for students at age 18?
| ON TUESDAY, when I went to purchase a ticket for an opera performance from Sistic, I was told that I no longer qualified for the full-time student concession because I was over the age of 18. I am a full-time student in a local polytechnic and I graduate only in May.
I would like to know why the age restriction was not made clear in any of the brochures I looked through. I would also like to know the rationale behind the age restriction. As a student, price is a very important consideration. I believe that providing concessions to all students will cultivate a love of the performing arts, and is a sound investment in attracting patrons in the future, when students enter the working world and won't feel the pinch of full ticket prices that much.
