Bak kwa at $50 a kilo? He will give it a miss
EVEN before the advent of Chinese New Year, prices of bak kwa (barbecued pork) have surged. Two leading stores are charging from $43 to $46 a kilogram.

As the festival gets nearer, I am sure prices will jump beyond $50 per kilogram.

Perhaps NTUC FairPrice supermarket and other leading supermarkets could in future come out with their own house-brand bak kwa. This will go a long way to help stabilise prices, which have been dictated by the oligopolistic sellers every Chinese New Year, without fail.

My family and close friends have decided to give bak kwa a miss this year.
