Why that hike in booking fee for tickets over $20
| I REFER to the letter, 'Hike in Sistic booking fee excessive' (ST, Jan 17), from Mr Tay Yi Cheah.
We would like to assure Mr Tay that Sistic's $1 increase in booking fee for tickets costing more than $20 is intended to provide our customers with the efficient ticketing service they have come to know from our ticketing channels - hotline, authorised agents and the Internet from the convenience of home. Our latest investment in the ticketing system is aimed at providing a secure and reliable ticketing experience for our customers. The new ticketing system is enhanced to handle a large volume of simultaneous transactions which supports a 24/7 real-time ticketing service with excellent user-friendly functions, without compromising speed and reliability. We would like to highlight that through the years, amid rising costs, Sistic's customers were unaffected, as booking fees were not raised (since 2004). For tickets below $20, the booking fee remains unchanged, as such tickets are for children's and sports events that we want to actively promote and support. With the enhancements to our ticketing system, we are confident that ticket-buyers will enjoy a more pleasant and satisfying ticket-purchasing experience.
