The Family Season Parking Ticket or Family SPT allows motorists to buy season parking tickets at half price to park near their family member's home.

As HDB carparks are provided primarily to serve residents, the sale of the Family SPT must not affect the parking needs of residents.

Hence, in carparks where most of the season parking tickets have already been taken up, no Family SPT will be sold.

The carparks at King George's Avenue, where Mr Ong's mother-in-law lives, have an occupancy rate of 100 per cent for season parking.

Therefore, Family SPTs are not available for those carparks.

The HDB has advised Mr Ong to consider buying a Family SPT at the carpark at Block 814 Jellicoe Road, which is about five minutes' walk from King George's Avenue.
