3 months too long to wait for medical report
I AM writing this letter to let others know the frustration I have experienced trying to obtain a medical report from Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

I asked for a medical report in August to seek professional opinions on whether I am suitable for a medical course with my current medical condition.

The initial report was sent to me in mid-September, but it did not address to my queries entirely.

Therefore, I asked for a more detailed report on Oct 3. The delay was because I have been busy with overseas studies.

On Nov 28, I sent an e-mail message to the SGH medical report section to inquire about the status of my report, as it was way over the three weeks waiting time stated on the SGH website.

I was told the section was in the process of retrieving the report and seeking clarifications.

I e-mailed again on Dec 26. The reply was that the doctor would be on reservist duty and a notification of delay had been sent to me on Dec 21, which I did not receive.

I understand my specialist doctor is very busy, but the hospital could have at least told me or asked another specialist to write the report if possible - not let me wait almost three months for a medical report, which is ridiculously long for an organisation that is ISO certified.

To make things worse, the deadline for registration for the medical course is the end of this month. I do not want to have to wait another year to enrol if I am eligible.

I have yet to receive my medical report from SGH.
