We agree with Mr Leong that the tree-pruning practice he witnessed was hazardous and unacceptable. We regret the scare it had caused him and his family.

The contracting company carrying out the tree-pruning work has been counselled to be mindful of public safety when carrying out its work. We will be monitoring its performance to ensure compliance.

The company has a good track record and we are confident it will learn from this incident.
