Timeshare refund taking a long, long time
IT IS good that consumers who have signed up for timeshare contracts are given a three-day cooling period to reconsider and that they can cancel their membership within this period. However, refunds after cancellation take a long, long time.

In the middle of January this year, I signed up for a holiday membership at Gallaway Enterprises after their presentation. However, I changed my mind and cancelled the membership the next day. They told me that it would take about 10-12 weeks to process the refund.

When there was still no sign of the refund after 13 weeks, I called the company and sent them an e-mail to check on the cheque's status. I was told that the matter was overlooked and that the cheque was not ready. Also the boss was not in town to sign the cheque.

On the 14th week, they called to inform me that the cheque was ready and that I could drop by to collect the cheque. I refused and told them to courier the cheque to me. However, I have yet to receive the refund.
