Rude service at Long John Silver's
LAST Thursday at 7.15pm, a friend and I went to Long John Silver's Far East Plaza outlet for dinner.

The counter staff promptly took our order and said it would be delivered in five minutes.

After waiting for about 10 minutes, another staff member, Louis, came to confirm our orders. He looked very impatient and rudely asked us what our order was. After confirming it, I told him he was rude. I could see many other people were waiting waiting for their food to be served. When the kitchen started delivering orders I saw Louis had ignored our table but had promptly delivered orders to others after us.

I went to the counter to check how much longer we had to wait and saw our set meals had been placed on the counter top but not delivered to our table.

I told the cashier to ask the staff to deliver our order. When Louis came to deliver the food, he shouted a Hokkien vulgarity and threw down the tray of food. He exclaimed loudly: 'Cannot wait is it? Eat lah!

When I asked for his name to make my complaint, he gave it willingly. Subsequently, the branch manager approached us. She noted my contact details and promised to call once the matter was settled with Louis.

When I asked her to change the clam chowder as I was worried if something had been done to it, like spitting, she made the change promptly. However no offer of compensation was made to appease us.

A member of the public stood up for us. The middle-aged man was a passer-by and he overheard the rude staff member shouting at me. When the branch manager came over, he came over to voice his concerns over Louis' behaviour.
