Courier issue: SingPost explains
WE REFER to last Saturday's online letter by Mr Lau Boon San,'Upset over courier service'. As explained in our reply to Mr Lau, the United States Postal Service (USPS) records showed that delivery attempts were made unsuccessfully to the addressee. Thereafter, the item was retained by USPS for five days to allow the addressee to claim it, before it was returned to Singapore.

Back in Singapore, our courier attempted to deliver the item to Mr Lau at the specified address. As Mr Lau was not there, our courier took the initiative to phone him. Unfortunately, due to his fixed delivery schedule, our courier could not wait for Mr Lau's confirmation on the alternative delivery arrangements. We apologise to Mr Lau for the inconvenience. We will review and finetune our delivery process for greater convenience for our customers when receiving their items.

We thank Mr Lau for his feedback.
