Action taken against cleaning contractor for poor work performance

WE REFER to the online letter, 'Why isn't something done about this mess?" (March 6). We thank Mr Lim for his feedback. In our inspection, we have noted the cleaner assigned to the block did not perform his work satisfactorily and have taken steps to impose penalties for poor work performance. At the same time, we have arranged for our cleaning supervisor to pay particular attention to the areas.

Meanwhile, our Town Council has cleaned up the mentioned block on the same day. We would like to assure Mr Lim and our residents that our Town Council takes this lapse in cleanliness standards seriously and we would continue to monitor the cleaner's performance closely.
