Confidential information in SingTel mailer in address label

| I RECEIVED a SingTel promotional mailer recently. To my surprise, the address label bearing my full name and address also has the following personal particulars clearly printed on it: NRIC number: (in full); user ID: (my SingNet account); and fixed line number: (my residential telephone number).
Should a person's confidential personal particulars be revealed in mailers without consulting the person first? In the wrong hands, such information can lead to mischief. SingTel should also take steps to ensure that such information does not appear in a mailer. Ronald Seow Hwee Hock | |
