Four-hour wait for a tow truck
| ON THURSDAY at around 7.45pm, while on our way for dinner, my dad's car broke down in Pasir Ris Street 53. We then decided to call Borneo Motor's towing service for help.
When my dad first called, he was told that the towing truck would arrive within the hour. When the tow truck did not show after one-and-a-half hours, my dad called again to check. He was told that all of their trucks were on jobs and that we needed to wait half an hour more. When there was still no sign of the tow truck after 30 minutes, we called again and, this time, we were told a truck was on its way and that it would take another half an hour to reach us. When this did not happen, I called the tow truck company and found out that no vehicle had been dispatched to help us. This no-show and calling them up went on a few more times and the tow truck finally arrived at 11.40pm, four hours after our car broke down. I am appalled by the way the company handled the matter. If they had told us from the beginning that no truck was available, we could have made alternative arrangements to get our car towed. Chia Ming Jie | |
