Common practice to conduct quality checks and testing on random mobile phones: Nokia
| WE REFER to Mr Sim Kwang Wah's letter, 'New Nokia phone life timer has already run for 19 minutes' (Online forum, Feb 16).
We have investigated the matter and would like to clarify his question on the recorded time on the life timer display on his phone. It is a common practice for Nokia and our sales channels to conduct quality checks and testing on random units of new devices. We believe that Mr Sim's unit was most likely one of those tested, which explains why there was a recorded time on his phone. We would like to assure our customers that products that Nokia sells to authorised distributors and operator customers are brand new and we do not sell used or second-hand phones. Nokia products are supplied directly from the manufacturing facilities to Nokia's customers. Sueanne Mocktar (Ms) Communications Manager Nokia | |
