Spielberg should not have mixed politics with sports
| AFTER reading the article, 'No Spielberg magic for Beijing Olympics', I felt sad that Steven Spielberg had mixed politics with sports.
I can understand Spielberg's disappointment that the Chinese government is not doing much to help end the Darfur conflict. Even though China may have business dealings with Sudan, it is not Beijing's duty to interfere. To rely on China alone is not enough - other countries must also do their part to help stop the conflict. I also suggest that a real-life documentary be filmed on the Sudan conflict and I can't think of a more and better qualified person than Spielberg himself and his team of professionals. This documentary should be used to encourage other nations to add pressure to help stop the conflict in Darfur. Ace Kindred Cheong Shiang Hoow | |
