Why are StarHub sports channels taking a 'rest'?
ON WEDNESDAY morning, four Barclays Premier League matches were played but none was telecast on StarHub's sports channels.

Last weekend, FA Cup matches were carried by ESPN-StarSports channels. However, there was one Barclays Premier League match played (Aston Villa vs Blackburn) but this match was not telecast by the Football Channel. In short, StarHub's sports channels had a 'rest'.

We are now paying higher subscription fees to StarHub for the sports programme package but we are getting less, not more. I rang up the StarHub customer service agent who told me that the next 'live' EPL match to be telecast will be on Feb 1. This means no 'live' Premier League football matches for two weeks.

One would have expected at least one of Wednesday morning's matches to be telecast 'live' and, failing which, to have some of these matches shown later in the day. But a check of the programme schedule showed there is none. I had to go to the BBC Football webpage for the results of Wednesday morning's matches.
