Lack of service support for the Palm Treo PDA phone
SCRATCHES and damage to cellphones and PDAs are very common because of the very way they are used. In fact, I had previously replaced the cracked LCD of my Nokia phone that was under warranty.

Recently, I cracked the LCD screen of my Palm Treo 500v PDA phone and had called the service support centre for assistance.

To my horror, I was told that I had to pay $300 for a replacement phone as they did not have any repair options for the phone. Moreover, I was told that this was the case regardless of how minor the damage was.

I had tried to reason with the company that it was unreasonable and unfair that I had to purchase a new phone just to replace a defective or damaged part. If I had known that there was this lack of service support, I would not have bought the phone in the first place.

I am unlikely to get a replacement for my phone as the replacement phone cost more than the phone when I first bought it.
