Poor after-sales service at Nokia Care Centre
| I WOULD like to comment on the poor service rendered by the Nokia Care Centre at Suntec City.
I received my Nokia cellphone on Dec 16 after an online purchase. However, I encountered problems with the handset the very next day. It kept turning on and off by itself. This occurred so frequently that it was impossible to use. I could not even send an SMS without the phone turning off midway. This also happened when I was in the middle of a call, so I decided to send it in for servicing on Dec 20. I was informed by the Nokia Care Centre to collect the handset on Dec 27. According to the counter assistant, the phone had been repaired and was in good working condition. However, all my contacts and information stored in the phone were gone. Worse still, when I used the phone the next day, the same problem occurred. The phone kept turning on and off by itself. And because I could not use the phone, I missed one of my appointments. I went to the service centre again on Jan 4 to request that my phone be replaced with a new handset. When I was collecting my queue number. I had made this request to the counter assistant who kept repeating that they do not do one-to-one exchanges despite my explanation. She did not seem to empathise with me and came across as rude. In the end, I was told that I would be attended to in about an hour as there were only two service counters available and more than 20 customers waiting. After waiting 45 minutes, I left in disgust as I had an appointment to keep. Eventually, I missed my appointment as I could not contact my friend. Why? Because the phone turned off by itself again! What kind of after-sales service does the Nokia Care Centre provide, as there does not seem to be a guarantee that handsets will work even after servicing? And how do they intend to resolve my problem? Jamie Lim Zhiying (Ms) | |
