Parents should tell kids to stand behind yellow line at bus bays
| JUST the other day, I was at the bus bay when I saw two eager young kids signalling to an incoming bus.
They were very near the edge of the bus bay. Such an action could have caused an accident if the bus driver was not alert enough to drive a little distance further away from them, ensuring that those kids were not hit by the bus' large side mirrors. Commuters should stand behind the yellow line indicators. Moreover, there are also signs printed on the bus side mirrors to warn people not to get too close. However, kids may not understand this and, because they are generally short, they may not be exactly noticeable by the bus drivers. I urge parents to warn their kids not to be over-eager in trying to board the bus lest an accident occur. Kevin Lee Ting'en | |
