Illegal anime downloads: Warning letter should suffice
I AM shocked to read that a nine-year-old boy had received a letter demanding 'reimbursement' from Odex for downloading anime illegally.

And the Odex distributor has gloated online that he could catch so many illegal downloaders.

As most of the downloaders are students, why can't he show some mercy?

Years ago, when a music company wanted to stop illegal MP3 downloads, it only asked the ISP to send warning letters to first offenders, and the warning letter worked effectively. Why not use the same method in this case?

There should be an alternative way to educate people against illegal downloads instead of getting 'reimbursement' money from them.
