Delifrance has no choice but to re-evaluate overall costs of doing business
WE REFER to the posting by Mr Ang Beng Kee, '17% hike in price of Delifrance's tuna croissant sandwich' (Online forum, Aug ).

Due to the very competitive environment in F&B retail, Delifrance has been absorbing the significant increases in the cost of doing business which includes, among others, rental, labour and raw ingredients.

Delifrance believes in using only the finest ingredients like European flour, butter and other quality ingredients to maintain its product quality and integrity. It is no hidden secret that European butter and flour alone experienced increase in costs of over 30 per cent in the last 18 months.

Thus, Delifrance has had no choice but to re-evaluate the overall costs of doing business and to review its prices accordingly, which also includes the recent GST increase.

We thank Mr Ang for his feedback and hope this response meets with his understanding.
