Fun with 'Buzz My Day' event, history learnt as well
I WOULD like to congratulate SBS Transit for the successful launch of the fun-filled 'Buzz My Day' event on SBS Transit Thank You Commuters Day on June 23, which was co-organised with SPH.

This event may not be the only Singapore-style Amazing Race organised in the last few years, as rival transport operators and other clubs have organised comparable events.

However, I must say I am impressed by the format of the most recent event which does not only emphasise swiftness in cracking clues given and moving quickly from one checkpoint to another, but also requires participants to learn something of the history of the places they have to go to, including taking photographs at these places for keepsake.

While there was the obligatory questions on product knowledge of the sponsors, trying to find the answers to the many questions based on the places visited like the Chinese Heritage Centre in Chinatown and the Malay Village in Geylang Serai improved our knowledge of the rich history and heritage of these places.

I hope that the organisers will continue to hold this event in the coming years and have more of such events organised for different segments of the population including the less nimble but equally young at heart heartlanders.
