Quake shakes southern Greece, no injuries reported
ATHENS - A 5.4 magnitude earthquake shook the southern Greek Peloponnese peninsula on Monday, rocking the port city of Patras, without causing injuries or damage.

'The epicentre of the earthquake was 15km south of the city of Patras,' an Athens Geodynamic Institute official said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, the police department said.

Last week, a 5.0 magnitude quake struck 50 kilometres south of the capital city Athens, while earlier in January an earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale struck Greece near the town of Leonidio also on the Peloponnese peninsula.

No injuries, or serious damage were reported in either of those incidents. -- REUTERS
