Thai PM to make official visit to S'pore

| Thai Prime Minister and Defence Minister Samak Sundaravej will arrive in Singapore for an official visit on Tuesday.
The three-day visit, at the invitation of Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, is part of Mr Samak's introductory visits to the region since he came into office on Feb 6, said a Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement on Monday. Mr Samak will be accompanied by Minister of the Prime Minister's Office Jakrapob Penkair and senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Thai Army and the National Economic and Social Development Board of Thailand. On Wednesday, Mr Samak will call on President S R Nathan and have separate meetings with PM Lee, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean. PM Lee will also host the Thai delegation to an official dinner tomorrow on Wednesday. | |
