Temasek says no certainty in delisting STATS
TEMASEK Holdings said on Thursday it was not certain of successfully delisting chip packager and tester STATS ChipPAC , which it failed to take private last year.

The planned delisting of STATS, the world's fourth-largest microchip packaging firm, is 'subject to certain conditions being satisfied", Temasek's unit Singapore Technologies Semiconductors (STS) said in a statement.

'There remains no certainty as to whether STS and Temasek will proceed to seek a delisting of the STATS ChipPAC shares,' STS said.

STATS said in a separate statement on Thursday that STS had exercised its right to convert S$134.5 million worth of convertible notes into 145.1 million STATS shares.

Temasek failed to take STATS private last May after it only managed to raise its minority stake in the firm to over 83 per cent, short of the 90 per cent of shares that it needed to delist the firm from the Singapore Exchange and Nasdaq. -- REUTERS
