Bush to make statement on economy on Monday
WASHINGTON - US President George W. Bush will make a statement on the economy on Monday following a morning meeting with top economic advisers, the White House said.

The meeting, due to begin at 9 am EDT (1300 GMT) was a regular scheduled policy session, a spokesman said.

It comes after the Federal Reserve on Sunday announced emergency measures to stem a fast-spreading global financial crisis. -- REUTERS
