Hyundai Eng wins $636m S'pore harbour order
SEOUL - SOUTH Korea's Hyundai Engineering & Construction said on Monday it had secured a 600.45 billion won (S$897.3 million) harbour development order from Singapore.

The Maritime Port Authority of Singapore had placed that order to develop the Pasir Panjang terminal, Hyundai told the Korea Exchange in a filing.

Singapore is spending S$2 billion to boost annual capacity at its container port by about 40 per cent to cope with the higher volumes expected from global trade, a newspaper said in December.

The Maritime Port Authority of Singapore will create 16 extra berths by 2013 at the Pasir Panjang terminal, which will have an annual handling capacity of 14 million standard containers, said the Singapore Straits Times at the time. -- REUTERS
