Bomb hoax caller remanded

| A 55-YEAR-OLD man was remanded for psychiatric assessment on Friday after he was accused of making a bomb hoax call.
Albert Ooi is alleged to have called 999 to say that there was a bomb at a unit in Block 217 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 on Thursday. The false message was apparently made from Block 218 at about 9.15pm that day. If convicted, Ooi faces a maximum fine of up to $50,000 or a jail term of up to seven years or both. He is due to return to court on Feb 15. | |
