Investigation showed that it was Dominic Ng Keng Kien, 34, who had slapped his 25-year-old sister after a heated argument on June 29, 2005.

But to cover up and pre-empt any complaints by her, he lied to the police the next day that it was the sister's then boyfriend who had hit her on the head and stomach.
