A new way to enjoy your Sunday
A NEW sun will be rising and it promises a brighter start to the week.

On Sunday, a new-look Sunday Times will hit the streets packed with more hard news, more in-depth features, more thought-provoking columns and a fresh new design.

It promises to perk up your Sundays, whether you are a food connoisseur or a football fanatic.

Said Sunday Times editor Sumiko Tan: 'We want to give our readers an even more satisfying read.'

The new-look Sunday Times will have more stories on its front page, allowing readers to dive straight into the day's top stories.

Flip inside and you can look forward to Special Reports in its Home section. These stories will feature topics that will get everyone talking.

Those troubled by the financial downturn will find help in its beefed-up Invest section, with tips from experts on how best to grow your money.

Sports fans will be able to find their favourite section more easily now as the sports pages will start from the back of the paper.

If people-watching is your thing, the new Sunday People column across the sections will throw a spotlight on interesting personalities here and abroad.

The Think section will also be strengthened. Two of the paper's most widely read journalists, Warren Fernandez and Zuraidah Ibrahim, will helm a fortnightly column.

Besides these and other features, check out Blogosphere, where we bring you the juiciest bites from the blogs; One Month On, which updates you on past news events; and Street View, where we discover just what Singaporeans are thinking and talking about.

There will also be changes to the LifeStyle section of the Sunday paper. Its Taste pages, in particular, will be expanded.

Whet your appetite in a column called Singapore Cooks, where home chefs - and every family has at least one very good one - share their special recipes. LifeStyle deputy editor Tan Hsueh Yun will also start a column on eating and cooking, called Hunger Management.

If you are looking for travel tips, The Straits Times' overseas correspondents will be sharing insider advice on must-do activities in different cities worldwide in the Go pages.

Finally, to really perk your Sundays up, there will also be readers' contests and giveaways galore, including free movie tickets.

From today till Saturday, we'll bring you a snapshot of what you can expect in the various sections, starting with the news.
